Outlook Express saves messages in the DBX file format. So when we attempt mail recovery from a computer using Express as its email client we must think in terms of DBX Repair. Why DBX repair as opposed to DBX recovery? Just as with full scale Microsoft Outlook, Outlook express has problems with inbox applications becoming corrupted. Think of this as if the door to your mailbox had rusted shut. No mail can be rescued until you repair the broken door. In the case of data recovery we must always recover our lost files first before we reload the application files and with that rebuild our inbox.
